DSU Alumnus Gives Nomination Address
at Democratic National Convention
Representing the First State and her alma mater, Delaware State University alumna Quincy A. Lucas stood tall and proud at the Democratic National Convention as she presented the official nomination of Sen. Joseph R. Biden as the vice presidential running mate of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Ms. Lucas was chosen by the Obama/Biden Campaign because of her work as an advocate against domestic violence and for victims' rights. That issue became a passionate cause for her after the 2003 domestic violence murder of her sister‚ Dr. Witney H. Rose, a University of Maryland psychiatrist, by her boyfriend.
