DSU Receives $5M NASA Research Grant

National Aeronautics and Space Administration last month awarded Delaware State University a $5 million grant to establish a NASA-URC Center for Applied Optics for Space Science on DSU’s main campus in Dover. CAOSS will foster new NASA-related developments in optical sciences and technology and enhance the national aerospace science and technology workforce.

CAOSS will work in conjunction with an established optics research center at DSU, the Center for Research and Education in Optical Sciences and Applications. CREOSA will be funded through the National Science Foundation-Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology program. The two research centers will merge within one year to ultimately become the Optical Science Center for Applied Research (OSCAR).

Tickets are $50. Read more.	Hornet Women Post 2nd Tennis Shutout The undefeated DSU women’s tennis team chalked up its second straight shutout, topping St. Francis 7-0. Read more.
Homecoming Kicks Off with Mr. & Miss DSU Coronation DSU crowned its newest Mr. and Miss DSU as it kicked off the 2009 Homecoming week with the annual Coronation Ceremony on Oct. 18 in the Education & Humanities Theatre on campus. Read more.	Class Reunions During Homecoming Weekend The classes of 1959 and 1999 will hold separate reunion events during Homecoming, and there will be an ‘80s Reunion dance.
