- About DSU

DSU President Harry L. Williams (l) sits next to Dr. Daniel Kgwadi, rector of North-West University after the signing of a new accord between the two institutions. Directly behind them and flanked by North-West students are (l-r) Dr. Anjan Biswas of DSU, Dr. C.M. Khalique of North-West University, and Dr. Fengshan Liu of DSU.
New Agreement with South Africa's North-West University Formalized
DSU President Harry L. Williams recently led a University delegation to South Africa where a formal collaboration agreement was signed between Delaware State University and that country’s North-West University.
Dr. Williams signed the agreement with Dr. Ntate Daniel Kgwadi, North-West Mafikeng Campus rector, on July 28 at the University’s Mafikeng campus. Joining the DSU president on the July 27 to Aug. 1 trip were Dr. Fengshan Liu, acting assistant vice president of DSU International Affairs and director of Applied Mathematics Research Center, as well as Dr. Anjan Biswas, DSU associate professor of Mathematics Sciences. Also present for the signing was DR. C.M. Khalique, head of the International Institute for Symmetry Analysis and Mathematical Modeling of North-West University.
The agreements will facilitate collaborations between the DSU Applied Mathematics Research Center and North-West University International Institute for Symmetry Analysis and Mathematical Modeling.
The accord will result in greater research productivity for the two centers, as it will facilitate faculty research visits, study abroad opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, the exchange of post-doctorate level scholars for research enhancement, as well as collaborations in the disciplines of business and administration, sciences and education.
“We are excited about DSU’s new relationship with South Africa’s North-West University and look forward to the collaborations and the student/faculty exchanges that will result,” Dr. Williams said.
While in South Africa, the DSU delegation also attended a Traditional Medicine Conference on July 30 at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa.
