61st Delmarva Chicken Festival

Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI) and The Delmarva Chicken Festival Committee welcome you to the 61^stDelmarva Chicken Festival being held at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware June 18-19, 2010. Committee chairs from the University have partnered with the Rotary Clubs of Dover, Kent County Tourism and The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce to bring you two days of fun, activities, events, entertainment and food as we celebrate chicken and its importance to the Delmarva peninsula.

Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. will have its famous baby chick display with educational information and chicken capers (fun competitions) for children. And there will be the original world’s largest giant frying pan with Rotary Club cooks preparing the best ever fried chicken all day. There will be many other food vendors available. And local chefs will showcase special chicken recipes for tasting by the public.

The festival will feature a carnival, which is also open Thursday night, an arts and craft show, a home and trade show, antique tractors, the Del Rods car show, children’s activities and games, a petting zoo and live musical entertainment. There will also be an opportunity to learn about nonprofit organizations.

The Delaware State University campus will be open for you to visit, and you will have an opportunity to see the Strength and Conditioning Center and the new Wellness and Recreation Center as well as the new Martin Luther King Student Center. Parking will be plentiful and admission is free. So come and see the University, have fun and enjoy lots of CHICKEN! We look forward to your visit!
